# Audit Logs

> See who did what in your organization, and when

The audit log records important actions in an organization, such as creating or deleting services, accessing credentials, taking backups and changing members. Owners and Admins can view it.

Go to **Organization** in the sidebar and open the **Audit Logs** tab.

## Reading the log

| Column | Description |
| - | - |
| **Timestamp** | When the action happened, in your local time. |
| **Actor** | The email address of the person or API key owner who acted. |
| **Action** | What happened, for example `cluster.create`, `backup.create` or `cluster.credentials_access`. |
| **Resource** | The type and ID of the affected resource. |
| **IP Address** | Where the request came from. |

Click **View metadata** under an entry, where shown, to see extra details about the action.

## Filter the log

Under **Filters**, narrow the list by:

* **Resource Type**: such as Database, User, Organization, API Key or Backup
* **Action**: type an action name, for example `cluster.create`
* **From Date** and **To Date**

Click **Apply Filters**.

  The dashboard's **Recent Activity** section shows the latest entries from this log. Owners and Admins can also open it from **View all activity** in the notifications panel.
